Work, work, all week long...

...punching that clock, dusk until dawn.

So that...or something like that...is the lyric to a country song. I think the artist might be Kenny Chesney. I'm not really sure, and I'm too tired to look it up.

Maybe I'll look it up later.

I don't know. I'm just tired.

Since my last post I took on two corporate jobs, one with a retail focus, the other a hospitality focus.

Since my last post, I've been working as early as 7 a.m. through 10 p.m.... sometimes beyond....every day. (I did have one evening off last Saturday. That was nice.)

Remember, I'm still an online college professor. So while doing all my training for these two corporate jobs, I've also been grading papers.

That's what I've been doing since my last post. Also, for those paying attention to grammar, I'm also writing in the past tense. I don't have the luxury--right now--of writing in the present tense.

Also, throughout all of this I managed to find time to appreciate the architectural beauty of the London Bridge. When Brenda and I took a walk through the English Village a few evenings ago... Saturday. I'll write more about this bridge --and Havasu--in another post. Maybe when I'm on Christmas break from school.

It's been cold here. Mornings are cold, and the wind was cold. (I know I'm going to hear it from my mountain and Midwest friends when you see these temps, but it was a dry cold.)

I did let go of one of the jobs this past week, the retail one. I didn't like some of the woke, corporate messaging on the employee bulletin board. I think the boss lady was surprised by my "reason for quitting." Whatevs. I'm the one that's got to live with my own conscience. I'm a dang fine sales person who engages customers, cross sells, and upsells. I've had lots of sales training at different levels and know how to get customer buy in. Heck, I even do it with my students. I get them to see why the next assignment or a particular reading benefits their best interest and/or education. So, because I work the sale and try to bring the company money, I couldn't see hustling my butt for woke corporate messaging. Why do they want to bring them money? I don't.

So now I'm down to two jobs: teaching and the hospitality service industry. I'm okay with that. My boss lady at this job, upon finding out about me quitting the other job immediately offered me more hours.

I need the work, too. I found a juice bar in this town that has me feeling good. Almost every day I have this spirulina and kale concoction. There's some good stuff in it, too...like stuff that tastes good and detracts from the whole kale-spirulina thing. It's also got bananas and apples. I think there might be strawberries in it. Once in awhile, I get ginger thrown in. As recently as a year ago, I would've never drank something like this. Havasu would have had to freeze over before I would. Now, I drink one four or five times a week. So, this is a major "food accomplishment" in my life. Victory!

Other big stuff on the horizon!

I can feel it.

Thanks for reading.

P.S.

It's Alan Jackson. "Good Time"

It was cold! I had a fun time at the bridge, too!
