Today is one of those dates on the calendar that has the power to transport an American back to a specific point in time. We all have our stories and can recall where we were when we realized America was under attack.

I was working a customer service job at a large accounting firm. I'd already taken care of our east coast division's morning requests and stopped by the fax machine. Something I'd written for the daily fax newsletter had just been published, and I returned to my desk smiling over my accomplishment.

The phone rang, and my then-husband told me about the first plane striking the tower. With few details, I thought maybe a propeller plane clipped the building and returned to work.

He called me back almost 20 minutes later. "Guess what? The other tower was struck. Another plane just hit the South Tower."

"We're under attack. This was no accident," I said.

I didn't even care about the work day at that point. The RV manufacturers and west coast office could wait. Usually a conscientious employee and at my desk, I left and went downstairs to watch the horror unfold on live TV. First the towers, then the Pentagon, and then Flight 93.

None of us watching could make sense of it, but many felt that urgency to hug our kids and be with family.

Now....20 years later, I go back to that day, while also doing my part to help ensure as Americans we don't ever forget. So, in the middle-of-nowhere, Utah, I hung a paper memorial wall in the motel lobby, commemorating all the victims of 9/11.

I wuz sitting on the floor of a friend’s place with my other new friend strumming on an old Martin guitar... the younger kid was quite the piano player and taking his guitar learning very technically and I was more of a rhythm dude... the slightly older fella was dying from cancer and after his initial protests he realized that if he’d use my weed he could hold down the tuna hoagie that I’d made for him. In all are time together that was main sustenance, those tuna hoagies. So I was just kinda dropped back out of the in-depth conversation about the majors and minors and thought I was see some kinda new action adventure movie lead or someth…

Well....this is kinda what happens when socialists select a senile old man to front as a "democrat" candidate. Some puppetmasters behind the "president" orchestrated a big reversal of "orange man bad" policy. And this is what you get: people left behind in Afghanistan, looming inflation/recession (depends on which economist you listen to), people flooding our southern border, and debt on top of debt. I agree that we needed to make sure the country was stable before pulling out. Do you think "orange man bad" would have left it that way? I don't think so. The democrat-socialist old man/puppetmasters undid "orange man bad"'s plans for withdraw and set up their own bungled plans. "Orange man bad" had orchestrated several peace deals…
