Traveling God Speed

Four years ago tonight, I set out on this nomadic journey, living first in a Jeep Patriot before moving into the motorhome exactly four months later.

I left my Salida apartment, locking the door for the last time, and huddled against the wind, racing toward my vehicle. Everything I thought I would need (and more!) was packed inside.

Pulling the door shut against the wind, I turned to Roxie, my canine companion, and asked, "Now where?"

We spent the night in a church parking lot in Buena Vista. Despite being tired, I couldn't sleep. The excitement and fear from the unknown world I'd just entered kept me awake well into the night. Periodically, I opened my eyes to watch the stars.

Eventually, I fell asleep.

Startled awake by the cold, I fought to get warm and finally resorted to just turning on the engine. It's always coldest in the deepest of night.

That's when the fears took their deepest tone and mocked me for daring to live in my vehicle as part of a larger experiment. (Besides, I'd also save on rent money! Zero is better than $650.)

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." ~Proverbs 30:5

There have been a lot of dark, scary nights living this way. That was just the first of them, and it kind of took me by surprise, but I wouldn't change any of it. Every hardship has deepened my faith and strengthened my resilience. I found a patience I didn't have before, patience to wait because I travel Godspeed now.

That being said...

Big changes are coming soon. I am renting a domain name for this blog. I'm keeping it on the down low until I can migrate everything to the new space. It's all part of a larger idea I've been working on, which will also be revealed in due time.

I'd hoped to have the migration ready to go today to coincide with the four-year anniversary, but I ran into a few snags today. I'll keep everyone updated when the change goes live. I don't think it will affect anyone's user experience, but connectivity may be an issue, so make sure you subscribe to this blog to be notified of the change.

Thanks for reading! Your thoughts, prayers, texts, and phone calls mean the world to me!
