Being so remote is kind of like Little House on the Prairie. With large grocery stores, auto part stores, and Walmart being 122 miles away, getting supplies feels like Pa going to Mankato for calico fabric for Caroline and the girls.
With five days off of work from the hotel, I decided to go stock up on things in Cedar City. Not fabric, but I did get candy. And epoxy and clamps. And ten cases of seltzer water, among other things.
I drove out on Tuesday, stocked up, and spent my night in an aspen grove up where the canyon road climbs the mountain.
On my way back to Escalante, I stopped at Red Canyon to do some photography of the Bryce-like formations in the early morning light.
By eleven, I made it back and switched vehicles for a quick drive up Hell's Backbone and the out to Highway 12 and all the amazing rock formations and canyon walls.
Switching vehicles again, I got back into the RV and found a camping spot for the night.
While I love the hotel job, I do miss sleeping and living in the RV!

Man O’ Man is that place beautiful! I just love seeing all your beautiful pictures of that incredibly beautiful landscape! So incredible!
