Now...what? Now...where?

The dirt is...I'm not happy with my new part-time job at the cafe. Sure, they have great food, but I haven't found an "in" with my coworkers. There's a lack of humanity and harshness working food service, and I'm reminded why I try to steer clear of the food-service industry as a whole. Instead, I lean towards working retail or gardening for part-time employment.
My saving grace has been my online teaching. It's the career that's kept me (mostly) afloat while living the nomad life and penning RV Chronicles. Earlier this week--while contemplating what to do about my job(s)--I looked ahead toward summer and wondered why I hadn't received a new contract. Usually, the contracts for the upcoming term arrive five weeks before the term begins. So, I emailed the "dispenser of the contracts" to see what courses I'd be teaching next. I'd been asked to pilot not one, but two, synchronous courses and even took specialized training this spring, so I knew these upcoming assignments had to be good. Maybe that's why I hadn't received the new contracts yet.
Instead, I received the reply: You have reached the max of ten assignments allowed for an adjunct to teach in the academic year. The load year resets in August and I will do my best to place you on a section or two. I looked up the date for that term: end of August! That means I won't have a teaching paycheck until mid-September.
This is not good.
Keep in mind...I'm stuck in middle-of-nowhere Utah with a broken fridge. The food scarcity here is real. I know that right now I'm just seeing the problems and not the solutions, so I'm praying that Jesus will reveal an answer--or a real good job!--to me soon!

I'm not sure why I can't reply to blog posts right now! It's some goofy thing with Wix on my app. I'm hoping this posts. I might be going to Colorado as job opportunities are better there. In addition, the food scarcity here--and living without a fridge--is a real issue.
Well, that came out of left field, didn't it ! Just a thought but maybe there is another company offering the same type of online teaching courses that you could use to get you through this dry period. With your experience, I'm sure they'd want to hire you and are probably scouring the internet looking for you right now. 🤞🙏👍🍎
Oh no! When did this limit of 10 come into being? That sucks! What about the landscaping for your landlord?
