This little one flew in through the open door before 8 o'clock this morning. Banging against the hotel window, he couldn't understand the glass holding him back.

Trying to shoo him away from the window didn't work. It only made him flap and buzz like a confused angry bee. Finally, the little bird tired himself out, and he sat on the window ledge.

He allowed me to scoop him off the window ledge. And I held a hummingbird in my hands! I held him loosely in case he wanted to buzz away. Instead, he let me carry him out to the feeder. He didn't want any sugar water, so I set him down on the edge of the petunia plant.

Moments later he buzzed away.
