Gunnison was overcast and wet when I woke in the RV on Monday morning. The grey skies made the mountainous landscape more vibrant as the colors and scents of sage, grass, and flowers burst forth after the rains.
I managed to climb Monarch Pass without overheating the Godspeed, and I made it down the other side in low gear, only using the brakes when absolutely necessary.

Once in Salida, I saw the vet, stopped at AT&T, and stopped for a few supplies to take back to remote Utah.
I spent the night in Buena Vista on a corner of BLM land in town and nar the Arkansas River. I fell asleep to the pitter-patter of rain on the roof.
