I scheduled four days off work to go get new front tires for the RV. This winter, I'd been kicking around the RV, trying to decide whether to keep it or sell it, when I noticed some cracks on the front tires. I'd bought them...used Michelin's with a promise of only 200 road miles on them...back in 2017. That was over 40,000 miles ago. Time for new tires! I scheduled the appointment, and at last the day arrived!

First RV road trip of 2022!

I only hoped the RV made it the 197 miles to St. George! To that end, I took the back roads. (Not that I'd have any choice in the matter. The nearest interstate is 125 miles away.)

Through Red Canyon

Past Bryce and through Red Canyon, then a quick stop in Panguitch for dog food, and then south through Hatch, Orderville, and Kanab. South into Arizona through Freedonia, and then hugging the south side of Zion.

I arrived in the St. George area a little ahead of schedule and went straight to the tire shop. (Sorry....no pics of the new tires! Maybe tomorrow!)

After that, I stopped for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. It had been so long since I had steak! Ordering a sirloin, mashed potatoes, and a salad, I opted to have the bread after dinner so as not to over indulge. (Their dinner rolls and cinnamon butter are absolutely amazing!)

After that, I went and found my camping spot for the evening.

It promised to be a chilly night with lows in the 40s. Already, a cold wind blew, and I had to Bring Buena inside. Getting ready for bed, I opted for thermal pajamas and warm socks.

As day faded to night, I watched the moon and practiced ukulele. After that, I tried to get Buena to howl at the rising moon. She'll usually howl with me when we practice in the mornings at the hotel, but tonight, she was having none of it. She's been in a false pregnancy for about a week, and her behavior is off.

After hanging the tapestry across the front and the blankets on the windows, I looked around. I've missed this place.

I really miss this place.
